Casino Roulette Guide and Strategy
Roulette is a game of pure chance. A small ball is spun around a wheel, and comes to rest on a number. There are numbers 1-36 and the number 0 (for European tables; American tables often have a 00 too). Zero is the "house" number, and when the ball lands on zero, all bets (apart from those placed on zero), lose.
Bets can be placed on individual numbers, groups of numbers, colours, columns, odds or evens.

The Roulette Bets
The payout you get depends on the type of bet you place. These are described below, along with an illustration of where the chips are placed on the roulette table for each bet.
35/1 - Straight Up: Bet placed directly on a number.
17/1 - Split Bet: Bet placed on the line between any two numbers.
11/1 - Trio Bet: Bet on the intersecting point between three numbers.
11/1 - Street Bet: Bet placed at the end of any row of numbers, covering three numbers.
8/1 - Corner Bet: Bet placed on the corner where four numbers meet.
5/1 - Line Bet: Bet placed at the end of two streets on the line between them. This bet covers all the numbers in either street, six in total.
2/1 - Dozen Bet: Place your bet in one of the boxes marked 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, each covering twelve numbers.
1/1 (Evens) - Red/Black or Even/Odd: A bet placed in one of the four boxes at the edges of the table. Each box covers half the numbers on the board, but a zero will cause all bets placed here to lose.
